August 6 -- John 1: 35 - 42 "The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, 'Behold, the Lamb of God!' The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, 'What are you seeking?' And they said to him, 'Rabbi' (which means Teacher), 'where are you staying?' He said to them, 'Come and you will see.' So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, 'We have found the Messiah' (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, 'You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas' (which means Peter)."
Prayer focus for today: As this chapter continues, we can see and hear the interactions between John and his disciples (followers) and Jesus. The story unfolds as a story before our mind's eye as we picture and can 'see' and 'hear' what is happening. They sought, they found, the followed. That personal interaction with Christ Jesus made the difference. The same is true today.
This is our prayer today -- that those who do not know Jesus will be drawn to understand their great need for Him. That they will find Him - right where they are. That they will choose to faithfully follow Him all the days of their lives because of their own personal interaction with Jesus. Pray that YOU will be used by God to tell others of Jesus so that personal interactions will happen! How is your personal interaction with Jesus? Praying for each of us today to grow in our walk with Him.
